This was a project for our Brownies. 'Samaritans Purse' deliver these shoe boxes to children in war torn and deprived areas abroad. These are usually the only gifts these children get. The boxes must contain health items such as soap or toothpaste; educational items - note books pens colouring pencils; something to wear like gloves or a hat and then filled with toys and sweets. In some places children can only attend school if they have their own stationery so the shoe boxes enable them to get an education as well as the joy they get from knowing someone cared enough to send one.
